Wedgnock Rifle and Pistol Club

The last 12 months has seen a dramatic change in the air rifle section which is situated on the left hand side of the C-Range. There are now 10 hard standing fixed target boards and 8 of the 10 lanes have had the bench tops replaced with marine ply timber. The other 2 lanes bench tops will be replaced this year. A permanent path to the targets using annealed wood and shingles is due to be installed later this year for easier access.

Last year 2008, saw the first of very successful air rifle competitions which are popular and well attended. The entry fee is a modest £3 and engraved medals are awarded to the first 3 places. Winners have the option of having their photo taken and published in the established W.R.P.C. Newsletter and on the website in the password protected members’ area. 2 more competitions are planned for 2009 and notices are placed around the site and in the members’ area.

There is a good camaraderie and 2009 has seen a surge in new members who undergo a compulsory safety training session prior to being allowed to shoot. Some purchase a season ticket which is greatly reduced for members and allows them to shoot 7 days a week.
